Microsoft Office 2021 Professional Plus installation and activation guide

This guide installs and activates Microsoft Office 2021 Professional Plus for Windows bought from license4u.co.

  1. Uninstall any existing Office from Settings > Apps and restart the PC. Running two Office versions side by side is the most common reason setup fails.
  2. Download and install using the link in your delivery email. Professional Plus 2021 installs via the Office Deployment Tool: run setup.exe /download configuration.xml then setup.exe /configure configuration.xml, with ProPlus2021Volume as the product ID. The configuration file is supplied with your order.
  3. Enter your key: open Word, go to File > Account, click Change Product Key and type the 25-character key.
  4. Check that File > Account shows "Product Activated" and Office Professional Plus 2021.

Command-line activation

From an administrator Command Prompt in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16, run cscript ospp.vbs /inpkey:YOUR-KEY, then cscript ospp.vbs /act. cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus shows the current licence state.

If activation fails

Confirm the installed edition is Professional Plus 2021 (not Home and Business, Home and Student or a 365 build) and that the PC is online. If it still fails, email support@license4u.co with your order number and the /dstatus output.
